The Role

We’re seeking a passionate React Native Developer to update and enhance the calculation logic in our UK Tax Calculator Pro and UK Tax Calculator Premium apps. You’ll work closely with our small, collaborative team to ensure our apps remain accurate, user-friendly, and compliant with UK tax regulations for 2025–26 and beyond. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact, working on apps that empower users to manage their finances with ease.

Key Responsibilities

• Update and optimize the calculation logic for UK Tax Calculator Pro and UK Tax Calculator Premium to reflect UK tax rules (2023–24, 2024–25, and 2025–26), including income tax, National Insurance, and dividend tax calculations.
• Enhance app features, such as take-home pay, overtime, and capital gains tax calculators, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HMRC guidelines.
• Implement mobile-friendly UI/UX improvements using React Native and Nativewind for a seamless, touch-friendly experience.
• Collaborate with our backend team to integrate updated APIs and ensure smooth data handling.
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging to maintain high performance and reliability across iOS and Android platforms.
• Stay up-to-date with UK tax law changes and suggest innovative features to keep our apps ahead of the curve.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 2+ years of React Native development, with a proven track record of building or updating mobile apps for iOS and Android.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in React Native, JavaScript, and Nativewind for styling.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and handling complex calculation logic.
  • Familiarity with UK tax systems (income tax, NI, CGT) is a big plus but not essential—we’ll guide you!
  • Knowledge of mobile app testing frameworks and debugging tools.
• Soft Skills:
  • A friendly, team-oriented attitude with excellent communication skills.
  • Passion for creating intuitive, user-focused mobile experiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Bonus Points:
  • Experience with financial or tax-related apps.
  • Familiarity with UK tax regulations or HMRC data integration.
  • Knowledge of TypeScript or other modern JavaScript frameworks.
